Ruby 1/2 Watt Amp Sound TEST

By admin January 23rd, 2012, under Resistor Wattage

I looked all over youtube and couldn’t find much as far as sound samples for the Ruby amp goes. This is the Ruby amp from runoffgroove.com. I did the Bassman mod to it so it basically just has a volume. I would have put a gain control in it but didn’t have a 1k linear pot on hand. So, instead I put a MXR Dynacomp in front of it and pushed it as far as it would go. This gear was just Telecaster-Dynacomp-Ruby amp-Blues Jr Cab (1X12) Recorded through the camera mic so it’s a bit compressed, but you can hear what is possible. This is certainly not a fine display of my guitar skills, so try to see through that, listen to the amp, and enjoy. If you have any questions or wanna see a demo of it with a different guitar send me a message.

Resistor vs. Wall Socket 47 ohm 1/2 watt at 120v

By admin January 11th, 2012, under Resistor Wattage

A 1/2 watt 47 ohm resistor is plugged into a power strip that was turned off. Then I turned on the camera, then the power strip. I am not a jerk, I ALWAYS allow annotations and ratings–no execeptions EVER. Any disabling of comments or ratings that you might see on my videos are against my wishes and NOT at my consent.

Insane Bass on a tiny stereo system

By admin December 28th, 2011, under Resistor Wattage

Believe it or not that stereo system is on of my own concoctions. It is made up of two JVC 80 watt woofers, two 150 watt Pioneer linear power speaker box sets, one jenison 250 watt car subwoofer, all tied together with a 80 watt JVC stereo system. Of corse I opened the thing up a while back and bypassed some of it’s resistors to bump it up to 200 watts. But its still brains, and knowledge of advanced physics I used to get the most bass out of it by strategically placing the speakers on the shelves and around my room.

H7 LED DRL resistor install

By admin April 24th, 2011, under Resistor Wattage Videos

Dont listen to closely to the nut in the video–me–because I misspeak while using my hands…duh. Anyway, want to install eBay LED H7s from China in your car? You will need to trick the computer—ECU into thinking the LED light bulb has a filament that causes a lot of resistance, right? Right! Thus averting a ‘bulb out warning’–code. Sooo use resistors to emulate a closed circuit. Use big ones from radio shack that dont get hot and are cheap, use ones with the most resistance 100Ohms—off the shelf—and in increments of 10 watts. In this case 3@100Ohm 10watt do the trick. You should know a little about messing with your car before trying this. Good luck.
